Considered the Post Card of Bonito, the tour at Gruta de Lago Azul (Blue Lagoon Cave) begins with an orientation at the reception center where you will be furnished with a caving helmet followed by a 250 meter walk along a level trail until you reach the entrance of the cave where you continue down a slope with a stairway with nearly three hundred steps. The climb is done with stops along the way where the guide explains the rock formations and the history of the cave. After about 40 minutes you will reach the base of the cave where you can get a close look at the intensely azure water surrounded by stalagtites and stalagmites. Afterwards, you return by the same trajectory.
