When planning your holiday is important to understand the differences between the High Season and the Low Season for Tourism in the Pantanal and for the Attractions in Bonito,  Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. 

The high season for the Pantanal generally corresponds to the dry season, which is between the end of May and the beginning of November.  This is because the Pantanal is more accessable in the dry season, and their are more options available, and also because this is the time of year that Europeans and North Americans, who account for a large portion of ecotourists, typically take their vacations.  Also, the fishing season in the Pantanal, which accounts for a great number of Brazilian Tourists in the Pantanal begins on the first of March and improves over the course of the year until the season closes on the first of November of each year.  Ecotourism in the Pantanal reaches its peak in July, although there is usually a lot of activity just before and after Carnival in February or March. 

There are some advantages to visiting the Pantanal in the dry season, and others in the wet season.  If you are visiting the Pantanal in a peak period, the key is to book further in advance.

In Bonito, the high season is defined by the local tourist authorities in the periods around Brazilian Holidays, and more affluent Brazilian tourists tend to visit Bonito to bathe and relax in the summer months From December to March.  During the defined holiday periods some, but not all attractions and lodging will cost more.  During and near these periods, availability will be limited and it is more important than ever to book well in advance.
